I hope this story is as good to hear as it is to tell. For years, I was on the run from the law. I wasn't a violent offender, but I was a convict none-the-less (fraud). After a number of years on the run for absconding from my parole, I came to Christ. My late Uncle Ronnie was my pastor and opened up his heart and his church to me. In a brief period of time, I became the church pianist and Bible Study teacher. Everything was going fine for me, and the whole family was amazed at the change in me. But, I wasn't as happy as I should have been. Something was bothering me on the inside, and one night I took my problem to my Uncle Ronnie and his wife, Machell. I told them that I couldn't be a leader in the church and have a warrant out for my arrest. I knew that turning myself into the authorities would mean going back to prison, but my faith was in God, and I knew that He would be in charge of what happened to me. My uncle couldn't have been prouder of me than he was at that moment.

A few days later, I turned myself in to the sheriff, and a few days later was back in the Department of Corrections. I prayed daily. Meanwhile, my cellmate, who was in prison on drug charges, and had attempted to end his life a couple of months earlier, became interested in my unlikely story and my unnatural behavior, and within a week, I led him to Christ. I don't know who wept more that night beside our bunks, but I know that neither of us would have rather been anywhere else than we were right then. I know that God worked a miracle in that cell that night with me and my new brother. His name is Eric Moorman. A few days later I received a letter from the parole board stating that I would soon be released from prison with no parole or probation, and that I would be a free man. I spent a total of three weeks locked up (after absconding from parole for three and a half years!). I know that God's plan was to save Eric, but He used me to do it.

You never know what God has planned for you as long as you are obedient.
