Exodus 17:6 I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out
of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the
elders of Israel.- (emphasis mine)

I’m sure you know Moses. One of the greatest prophet in the entire universe. He was chosen by God to lead His people in Freedom. Freedom
from slavery in Egypt. And knowing that the task was great, God used one
of the coolest gadget that time.

His staff.

So powerful that when it touched the Nile river, it turned into blood. He raised it and the palace was plagued with frogs and flies.

And who can forget the dramatic scene in the Red Sea?

With the help of this staff, the sea became their expressway. No wet land, just a dry ground with walls of water and maybe full of sharks,
dolphins and small fish (trivia: that was the biggest aquarium ever
built).

And imagined what it feels to strike the rock so water would come out?

Maybe in his heart he says, “oh so easy. this will be no sweat. tidbits compared to my experience in red sea”.

He struck the rock and water came out. Israelites were filled. No more grumbling. Thirst have been quenched.

Few years passed and Moses experienced again the same grumbling. There is thirst. There is trouble. And maybe this time they doubled in
numbers.

To addressed the concern God gave Moses a very difficult instruction.

Numbers 20:8 “Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock
before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water
out of the rock for the community so that they and their livestock can
drink.”- (emphasis mine)

“Oh gosh that’s new! I will only speak to the rock? I’m not used with that ways!”

To make the story short, He struck the rock.

He used his hands instead of his mouth.

He used his usual tool (staff) instead of his words.

Friend that’s how God works. He will always push us to increase.

He will always push us to Level Up. From glory to glory.

He doesn’t want us to remain with what we know and what we are used to be.

He wants us to increase, to engage, to expand and go beyond our borders.

And the choice is within us.

Are we going to settle with what we are and what we know or believe in God and step up to the next level?

And disobedience to the call of leveling up is very costly.

That simple disobedience cost the Israelites not to enter the land they are about to have.

I believe God is pushing now His people to step up a little higher.

To level up our relationship with God.

To level up our commitment to our family.

To level up our leadership.

To level up our ministry.

Friend

I invite you in this journey.

I invite you to be part of it.

I invite you to level up for the glory of God.

Be blessed,
Isa

P.S. Faint not, for we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. (Phil 4:13)
