- I stayed in a monastery in Poland, Benedictine. It was like a hostel, and so they opened themselves up to travelers. It was wonderful, so peaceful, got to wake up early in the morning to prayers. They were very curious about me as an American, and so suppers usually consisted of me eating and answering hundreds of questions for them. They were childlike in their curiosity and it was wonderful to be able to answer them and share with them.
