The Servant of All

Our Sunday School lesson today is from Mark 9. The disciples were having a discussion about who was greatest. Now, to me, this is funny. There they are, the hand-picked disciples of Jesus Christ, fighting among themselves about who was the biggest and the best. I think that's hilarious, considering they have access to the Son of God, who happens not only to be the Savior of the world, but also the greatest Teacher ever known. But they probably didn't know this at the time. They just knew each…See More

Temporary Home

I love the song by Carrie Underwood, "Temporary Home". The first time I heard it, I just cried my eyes out. It was so moving. And at the end of the verses, she sings about someone who is at death's door and reassures their family by telling them this life is only a temporary home. Oh my gosh! I could cry now, its so sweet.I guess God has to remind me that all this life offers us is temporary. Sometimes even our relationships are temporary. The people in our lives will change sometimes. As…See More

Grace like Rain

It's raining like crazy today. And while I was washing dishes and thinking about how much rain was falling, I thought about that song by by Todd Agnew that talks about God's grace being like rain. If grace fell from God in the same amount of rain that was coming down in a deluge at my home, what an unfathomable amount it would be. And, as I washed those dishes, it came to me that, indeed, there is that much grace.

We are presented an unearned, unmerited veritable ton of grace. God… Continue
