Lara: I love quotes as well. I often begin speaking to my students with, "Someone wiser than me once said..." It's amazing how these bits of wisdom burn themselves into our minds when we first hear or read them. Then months (even years down the road) they pop up in our minds at just the right opportunity as we share with others. Blessings, Jim

One comforting thing in our church is that most of the older people have known me since I was a child - I'm 62 now. There is a closeness among us like a family. Well, we ARE family. Most of those we've lost have gone Home and others have moved to where their children are.
We try to find things to bring in others, we co-operate with other churches on special programs - we just did our Christmas cantata with another church. I'm trying to get some churches in our county association to join together for a Senior Adult program on a regular basis. It seems most of the churches are down in attendance in our area. One of the churches in our county has Ladies Bible Study - Beth Moore - twice a year and several of our ladies have been going to those. We invite other churches, as well as unchurched people to our dinners.

I'm new at this too and hope we all can learn from one another. In a small church the same people are involved in everything.
