Please pray for our church. One SS leader objected to something we voted on in a business meeting and most of her class voted with her, then they started looking for another church.  All but one of these people have been members for over 40 -…

Patricia, You're right. In Job God and Satan talk about what satan would do to try to get Job to come over to his way. God set restrictions, but allowed him to do his best. satan was just too arrogant to realize his best came no where near…

God allows bad things to happen, things to go wrong. Allows is the key word. He gave us free will to make choices. The things that happen - like terrorists flying into buildings, etc. can be faith builders for some, MAYBE even punishment for some,…

First, Irma, you are so right, but it's easier to say than do - even for the devoutist Christian. Possible, but hard. I have been offline due to my mother's illness and death. In fact, I can't remember if I wrote about that or not. We…

I have been offline for a couple of weeks. My mother fell on Oct. 3 and hit her head and she showed signs of improvement, but she started going down after a few days. On Oct. 13 at 12:05 am she went to be with the Lord. We are all comforted by the…

I'm only allowed a brief time on computer until I'm completely healed. Thank you all for your prayers. The wound is closing up and no bleeding this week. Never thought I would get tired of just sitting or laying with my feet up. HA!

Lara: I love quotes as well. I often begin speaking to my students with, "Someone wiser than me once said..." It's amazing how these bits of wisdom burn themselves into our minds when we first hear or read them. Then months (even years down the road) they pop up in our minds at just the right opportunity as we share with others. Blessings, Jim

One comforting thing in our church is that most of the older people have known me since I was a child - I'm 62 now. There is a closeness among us like a family. Well, we ARE family. Most of those we've lost have gone Home and others have moved to where their children are.
We try to find things to bring in others, we co-operate with other churches on special programs - we just did our Christmas cantata with another church. I'm trying to get some churches in our county association to join together for a Senior Adult program on a regular basis. It seems most of the churches are down in attendance in our area. One of the churches in our county has Ladies Bible Study - Beth Moore - twice a year and several of our ladies have been going to those. We invite other churches, as well as unchurched people to our dinners.

I'm new at this too and hope we all can learn from one another. In a small church the same people are involved in everything.
