Sorry it took me a while to respond back. Things has been pretty crazy! I did have a great time visiting my sister and her family in OK. It was great seeing my grandbaby! (Don't know if I told you, my sister adopted her). It was the first time my husband has seen her and he bonded so well with her. Then, the weekend of the 19th, I went to Dallas to another sister's house for my neice's baby shower. My Mom and two other sisters were there also. (I have 4 sisters). It was such a great reunion! I am really close to my family and blessed to have them in my life. My oldest sister lives in the state of Washington. Don't get to see her very often. Then, I have more traveling this coming up weekend to my mother-in-laws. She lives in Bossier City, LA. Another 9 hour drive!!! Then I will go to my mom's the end of July (12 hour drive one way). Just wish gas wasn't so expensive!!! I love to travel, but not this much so close together.
I am so glad you went to see your family in Germany! How was the trip? I know you will be glad when all of this is over. It's hard putting it all in God's hand, but it's worth it in the end! God is good and so faithful!
I know you are probably glad school is out for the summer. Have fun and don't get too burned! It's pretty hot in Texas...LOL But, a cool front is pushing it's way in, so it's pretty nice outside right now. Take care and God Bless my friend!

With the oil spill, the Louisiana seafood industry is going to be on hold for a while. It's so sad, we really need to pray that a solution will arise soon!
Louisiana has mostly catfish, bass and white perch. I don't think I have ever tried trout. My husband says it's good. I don't like any kind of fish that has a fishy taste to it. I love fried fish, but my hips don't! LOL Most of southern cooking is fried or smothered. I figured I will never lose weight because I love food too much. LOL
Anyway, enough talk about food! I have only been through PA a few times. It is so pretty! We went through the Fall and all the fall folliage was just gorgeous! In the south, our leaves don't change colors like they do in the north. I would like to travel up that way again one day. My husband's dream is going to the Grand Canyon. If we go, I don't want it being during the hot summer! Speaking of hot summer, it is suppose to reach 108 degrees this weekend! Time for the pool! We are going to OK this weekend to see my sister and her family. Even though I have seen my sister several times over the past year, the last time I have visited their home was 21 years ago. That is because being in the military moving around and them living on the other side of the US. I hope your not an English teacher because that last sentence didn't sound right...LOL
I probably sound like I am babbling after reading this back to myself. It's still early in the morning! Have a bless week and I am enjoying chatting with you! Please give me updates on your son-in-law!
God Bless,
Sherri

I was just telling my husband about your Sil. He said for him to document everything! That includes date, time, people who was there. What was said...all in a log...but don't tell them you have it. Also, make copies of everything! Mainly medical records because they do mysteriously disappear! Make sure he makes it to all of his doctor's appointments with proper uniform on. The commanders will try everthing to break him to see if he is lying. My husband went through it and he has seen others go through it. He did say that when you have a P3 profile, you are not deployable. But, they will still try to get them over there by saying they would be doing a different job. (Which will not happen once they get there). How is he doing now? My heart goes out to him and my prayers.
Well, we like Texas. Don't like the property tax!!! We eventually want to totally retire and move back home...which is Louisiana. I miss the seafood and my husband miss the fishing! The nearest lake from us is over 2 hours away! He's not a happy camper! LOL My husband, Gary, works for Noram Power Supply. It is a division of Warren Cat.
Well, I am getting paged from my family! Take care and keep in touch! God Bless!

Actually no, I've never ran into them...would love to though! We have been in Midland, TX for a year and half. We were stationed at Ft. Hood, TX for 12 years then retired two years ago. At one time we were slotted to go to Germany. My son had asthma and was put on the EFMP (exceptional family member program). Once a family member is enrolled, they only send you where they can accomodate you medically. That is how we ended up at Ft. Hood. The farthest we lived was Hawaii for 4 years then went to Ft. Drum, NY.
I don't think I have heard of that author before. What kind of books does she write? I like Karen Kingsbury, Dee Henderson and I'm reading some by Mindy Starn Clark right now. My mind is completely blank right now....trying to remember the book I just finished about 10 minutes ago! I will have to get back to you on that one...LOL
Back to your son in law...I'm sorry he is having to go through all that pain. I get migraines all the time and it is not fun. Well, I need to shut down my computer, it is starting to lightning outside. When a storms comes through the desert, it's sometimes pretty bad! Take care.

Oh Joyce, I feel for you! I feel the pain that you and your family are going through. You are so right when you said God always make good out of a bad thing. I know it's gotta be hard for your family to be stationed so far away. You sometimes feel so helpless. We were never station overseas but I had friends that did. I am glad that IG has gotten involved and they will investigate this throughly! It's hard being a private and trying to prove you are doing your best. My husband went through a similar thing when he was up for promotion. It got pretty ugly before it got better. His career was on the line...just because he upset someone...they tried to get him back! But God was faithful and we got through the battle. I will continue to pray and please keep me updated! can I ask what exactly is wrong with him? I know you said something about his eyes and headaches. Take care an God Bless!
Oh! you like to read? I love it so much! Which is funny because I use to hate it. I have been spending so much money on books then realized, hey...we have a public library! LOL (We are fairly new to the area) anyway, take care sweetie!
