When We Hear The Rooster

Why the rooster? Why did Jesus use the rooster as the sign to Peter that His foretelling of denial had come true? The question has always been in the back of my mind. Now I know the answer. Chickens were numerous in and around Jerusalem. They were in the villages and out in the countryside. Roosters could be heard announcing the early morning most everywhere. Jesus knew Peter would be traveling through the land preaching the Good News. After all, Peter was the rock on which Christ would build…See More

Shaken By A Snow Flake

Do you know what God did for me? I was heavily burdened by my sin and began to think God had decided to give up on me. I worried He had severed our ties. This was in January several years back. It was a cold, windy day. The forecast was for snow flurries which started around lunch time. I headed home to pick up some materials I forgot to take to the office that morning. As I got out of the car and headed into the house, I noticed the snow flakes were like sheets of tissue. They were large…

The Good In Failure

There are two lessons to learn when we fail. One is don’t do that again! It hurts us and those around us. The other, and most important, is God does miraculous things with our failures. He uses them to reveal His glory. He uses them to refine us to be more like Jesus and He uses them to bring others to Christ.

What if Jesus had rebuked doubting Thomas because of his sin of disbelief. What if Jesus had denied Thomas the touch he needed to believe in the resurrection.…

Finding Hope In Our Darkest Hour

They both saw the same event. In fact, they both were part of the same event. Two criminals... one on the left of Jesus hanging on a cross, and one on the right. They both saw the sky darken. They both saw the man between them, Jesus, with torn, bleeding flesh. They both heard the mocking from the crowd and they both heard Jesus cry out, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.". In their darkest hour and facing death, the criminal's ears were filled with Jesus'… Continue

Separated From God

During a local street festival in my home town, I noticed a small girl, eight or nine years old, with a tearful face. I could tell the tears were from something way more serious than a childish tantrum. She looked fearful, worried, anxious and disoriented. She realized she was separated from her mother. She was lost. A town policeman was located. He came to her aid and helped her find her mother. The little girl was restored to her family. I've been thinking about the look on that little girl's… Continue

I can associate with your "feelings" of failure...battles fought many times...some fought again and again...to the point of my questioning will God still love me...I have to rely on His promise....not mine...they seem to last longer...then comes to motivation to pick myself up from the dust of my "pity"...and give it one more try to get over the bar that's been raised...relying on the strength He brings to my legs...I too think often of John 3:16 and read Ephisians again...The Lord is my strength...

I started by reading your blog. Then I looked at your book. Now I'm looking at your profile page. Hi! I'm Juline. What's great about meeting a writer? They are wordsmiths even when they ask for someone to pass the salt! God bless!
