Maria, the tower of Babel is an example that you could use for the need for so many translations, and if any one translation opens the Word to you, then where is it wrong?!? Also, the tremendous rise in contemporary Christian music speaks to the…

Maria, I both sympathize and empathize with you. I went to a church when I was younger that was dead. The congregation mean age was at least 70, the singing was nothing more than a drone, and the severity of the teaching extreme. I knew nothing of…

I came from a very traditional church background where there was a lot of emphasis on rules, legalism and tradition , in which one did not question anything and Christians were forbidden to sing, dance, be involved with anything of an artistic…

I read something the other day, can't remember where, that advised looking at life as symbolic to labor pains. It takes pain and work to be born, to get out. So we are in pain and working hard to get "out" of this life and this world…

Jim, thank you for the hymn. One devotional tool I've developed for use with classes is to take a hymn and make it a responsive reading. It helps us to reflect on the hymns and the message within each one.

Hi Siegfred,
You are so right! People who have much, find no need for God.

We learn in the Bible of: The rich young ruler.
We learn that the path we walk is a narrow one. While the bulk of society choose to walk the wide way of the world that leads to destruction.
We learn that Jesus is so gracious He will stand at the door of human hearts, but that we have to be the ones that open it.
Yet we also know that when we are repentant and ask Jesus to take control of our lives, He runs to us to welcome us home.
The Bible makes God clear.
The problem in our society is that most people detest the thought of another controling there lives.
Hence, the words of Jesus are hard for most people to respond to. It has been that way since the time Jesus preached on this earth. However, when life becomes difficult for us to manage on our own we are open to learning another way to live life. It then becomes our time to test God's word for truth.
Thankfully it is God's will for all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
It is our job to be ready to take the message that there is a God who cares for them despite their circumstances.

The harvest is plentiful, but we the workers are few.

Keep up the good work you are doing it will be blessed.

Your Co-worker in Christ,
Bob Smith
