Work work work

Many of us spend huge amounts of time at work. It can be what gets us out of bed in the morning or it can be a struggle from Monday onwards!! I hope this group can be a support for those who struggle in the workplace but more than that, I hope this group will help us all as we see our workplace as our missionfield. How can we reachout to those we work with? What is key to being a good witness? Where can we find help? What has worked or is working for you?

I've been working at the same place for over 23 years. I work with many Christians but it is still hard to share with non - Christians.

First off i would like to thank Nathan for creating this group!
i used to be one of the foul mouthed factory workers that we experiene at any given factory and i didn't take any concideration how this impacted other co-workers around me. I decided that i need to furthure my education and get myself out of the factory life and by no means am i degrading factory jobs or workers but i just wanted something better for myself and my family.
I moved into a drafting possition and this put me in a more professional atmosphere and that is when i discovered how important it is to surround ourselves with other christians as much as possible. I would take breaks with some of the employees that i worked with in the factory and i would find myself reverting back to how i used to talk to fit in with the crowd. I pray often for the lost souls in hopes that they to will find salvation in God and how amazing it feels to know that we have God to stand up for us and support us 24/7 365 days a years with no strings attached.
God will never forsake us or deny us his love and salvation

I loved those comments, and I graduated into a better economy that what they are facing today. And after years of study, they deserve a little break from the hard work of studying before jumping into the hard work of surviving in this world. I would advise telling them that "you" are taking the summer to get into the work mindset from the school mindset, but that "you" have a full time job lined up and thank them for their concern about "your" welfare.

Hello Group, Would like some additional prayers, suggestions and guidance I can pass on to a friend. He has graduated from college and is now hearing the well meaning "Do you have a job yet?" comments. He has a part time job to get him through the summer and will start a full time in August teaching. Thanks, Rose

Patricia, I lift your friend from Canada in prayer. I know God will calm her fears and she will live out her faith in her new faith community with their love and God's love and strength.

I have a friend in Canada with a similar problem. She is changing churches as she thinks the second one is more supportive and loving. the pastor at the first church has told her that if she leaves his church she will go to hell as his is the only true church. she is a fairly new Christian and is worried, I have told her that she shouldn't wait. Please pray for her as she is very worried, although I have tried to reassure her.

Update on move: Rick feels that God is calling him to seek another denomination from which to serve him. This is causing some family and work problems as his boss is also from the Protestant church he is leaving. Prayers are needed.

A friend's workplace is undergoing major changes in location and people retiring. Change is difficult and the move makes it rough. His name is Rick and he and the other staff members could use prayer in these three weeks.

@Patricia: I had not heard about that incident.
Let all of us continue to serve with gladness. Rose
