Permalink Reply by Daniel Schuler on June 21, 2010 at 11:39am I think this is a good point, I myself have asked God for wisdom & have been given it for certain situations...I think also, if we truly TRUST God in ALL things as we're supposed to, & not worry (I'm NOT saying it's easy), then He helps us with understanding & wisdom to get through things, circumstances, situations, etc., that come up in our lives....I think we should ask God for wisdom more than other things, because it IS with wisdom, His wisdom, that we can 'deal' with situations..& it helps us see how to get through situations & difficulties...He knows ALL, & if we're just given a fraction of His wisdom, we see that there IS always a way through it..& how to deal/cope with whatever is going on at the time.. i.e. (example) (If God gives us the wisdom to know that we shouldn't buy a certain product because it might be bad, then we should & would listen, right???) It would be crazy not to..He's always right & He always knows what's best for us...this is my opinion :-)

You are so right! His wisdom should be one of the top things that we pray for. And yes, it is always right to listen to the voice of God. Hearing the voice of God was a challenge for me until my pastor shared how we can discern weather or not a thought in our heads is from God, from Satan or just one of our own thoughts. Simply put; our fleshly nature always selfish and demands it's own way. If the thought serves only ourself in any way, it's our flesh or the enemy. If the thought is unselfish and is giving, kind, and it builds up someone else and the Kingdom of God, it's from God. Our flesh (or the enemy) does not want to serve anything or anybody but itself. Jesus said, "my sheep hear my voice and know my voice" (paraphrase). We, as God's children really do recognize His voice. We sometimes don't want to listen; especially then it takes us out of our comfort zone. His wisdom is what get's us through each day (with both feet on the ground and out of our mouth's). I speak from experience! In james where it says that if any lacks wisdom that He should ask God ... That's all of us! Just keep asking sister. God promised He would give it to us if we ask. He also says that he won't hold back and give us skimpy portions either.
