So, first I learned about the Lord, then my relationship with HIm grew to a love affair and we cuddled and got cozy in our quiet time together as my relationship with Him grew  closer and deeper.  It was a delight!  Then, He wanted to go still deeper and I did too, but knew that meant stepping beyond the "confines" of my comfort zone. 

 

Where are we headed?  I would have to say that I'm learning that one step and one day at a time.  He asks me to trust Him and to do things for Him that make me smile and also make be shake!  The more I step ahead, though trembling, the more He asks of me.  Yup, sometimes I react with "did I hear you correctly?" and when He seems to say "yes, my child" and I'm still shaking, I then sometimes say, "wait a minute.  Let me get this straight.  Did you REALLY MEAN IT???"  He speaks louder and more clearly "yes, my child." 

 

When I fight the urge to laugh, to cry, to stand still and not move, or to run like crazy in the other direction . . . and finally follow Him . . . WOW!  He blesses me beyond my wildest dreams!  What's it gonna be like when we get there?  I'll let you know.  Are we there yet?  No, we sure aren't.  We run into road blocks, we make pit stops, I get hungry, and sometimes we just needd to stop and walk on the beach and feel the sand between our toes and just be together quietly.  I sometimes get impatient to "get there" but He keeps reminding me that the trip from where our relationship was to where we're going is a gift to be savored. 

 

He's right, of course.  So, I am enjoying the scenery we pass along the way.  Sometimes, we stop and have work to do together.  We meet fascinating people on our journey and some of them love us right away and others find us odd and unfamiliar but warm up to us when they get to know us.  I love my Lord and it pleases me to introduce Him around and to bring new friends into relationship with Him.

Hello Martha!

 

What I like about your post is that there is scenery to watch along the way.  For me, it was the growth of the children.   They got better ideas or a new skill or they figured out how to get along in more situations. 

 

I noticed that there was fun scheduled at the oddest moments.   Sometimes a laugh came out of nowhere and that lightened the moment.   Alright, gonna let y'all in on the family joke de jour.   It comes from a movie where the parrot says "hello' .. and the owner answers "hello"..   this repeats a couple of times.   We do have complicated humor too.  Great fun can be simple as well.   It's finding that spark of joy that matters.   It put a smile on my face to see you found your spark of joy with the Lord.

Thank you!  Sorry to be so slow in responding.  Had to have eye surgery again.  Fourth time in this period of no income and thus no insurance.  Scary, but I'm walking with the Lord and so I feel the fear and walk ahead anyway.  He has a plan.  Jeremiah 29:11
