Renewal, depends on our ability to stop struggling with God.

There is pain in in child birth likewise in spirit birth.

As long as we sit in controlling position in our lives, our new birth still awaits us.

The word delivery we use in medical terms when speaking of the child birth process.

There exists a clear need for another type of delivery, relinquishing the possession or control to Jesus Christ, our entire lives.

This process alone brings about the rescue.

Then, the transfer of power allows for salvaging what was dead in sin (self) and brings forth the delivery of a new spirit and consequently a new persona.

As we reach out to others, we can let them know that we began by struggling with God.

As we submitted to God, we found new and abundant life. So can everyone!

That, my friends, is the Good News that we have to reach out with to all people.

Blessings to all,

Bob Smith

Agreed. There was a book entitled 'God is My Copilot'. I heard a humorous, yet nonetheless true statement, that 'if God is your Copilot, you are sitting in the wrong seat'. Turning control of our lives to someone else (anyone else) goes against the grain of everything the world teaches us. It is something I admit I struggled with. Once I finally got it into my head that it isn't about me but it is about Him, the struggle ceased and life got tremendously better in many respects. Now it's about trusting Him. Thank you for starting this topic. As a community, we can uplift and encourage each other. The real work is out there where the need is desperate. Blessings, Jim
Problem is that with renewal and spiritual rebirth many people think once it happens everything should just fall into place. I have so often heard people say there can't be a God. I accepted him, but it was even harder after. I found this, but being brought up by nuns knew that we have satan trying to stop us being with the Father so he will put obstacles in our way, then tell us if we were really with God these obstacles wouldn't be there. they forget we have to ask for His help every day, and to put it crudly, tell satan to bog off.
"I have so often heard people say there can't be a God. I accepted him, but it was even harder after."

Renewal is a process. When we see a young child begin the process of walking, falling is a constant companion until the process is completed.
As we become "new borns" in Christ it is no different.
There are many questions that need to be answered for the "new born," until he or she learns to walk on their own in Christ.
The time frame is different for each person.
Taking up your cross daily is quite different than "accepting Jesus."
Many accept Him as Savior, but want no part of Jesus as Lord of their lives.
If you accept Him as both, Lord & Savior, you will want to learn all you can about Him and with this knowledge He will put in you the desire to do His will. And that means being a living sacrifice to Him.
That is when we become truely weak. And we can never forget what Paul taught, "That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
Renewal is a process, people who accept Christ need to know this.
In the mean time, answer all questions for new believers as you are able.
Sticking with them under all circumstances is the most important thing we can do.
And yes, Satan the accuser, attacks quickly the babes in Christ.
They need to know that the words they are listening to are all false accusations, Satan is a defeted foe.
This old quote say it all:
"God votes for you, Satan votes against you . . . You get to cast the deciding ballot!"

Blessings,

Bob Smith

Deciding to follow Christ makes life better. That does not mean it will be easy. Jesus told us that ahead of time when He said, "Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me". He warned us we would have to make sacrifices and that the journey would be difficult. But when I look back on the things in my life I considered to be worthwhile, it is because they were difficult, not because they were easy. The great thing is, we do not journey alone. He is with us every step of the way. Blessings, Jim

brother Bob, Jim, and Sister Patricia, so right and agreeing what you all saying, Christian life Journey is not easy.(ref:Ephesians6:120) so daily we put on the Whole Armor of GOD.our good self and old sin nature of our self is always against each other, that is why the Paul saying on the (Romans7:14-24), only the HOLY SPIRIT can help our problem with our old sin nature. the LAW of the HOLY SPIRIT is Lamp of our feet(Journey of Christian). daily the HOLY SPIRIT is teaching, correcting and convicting us to living the way, what HE want, so we can have a followship with WORDSHIP. the LORD JESUS is Faithful, give us Faith, hope, LOVE and GRACE and Mercy to going toward to the HEAVEN(Everlasting life). Psalms119:25 " my soul clings to the dust; REVIVE Me according to Your WORD." <:>< mia
Every Chistian I know has more problems than those who aren't. If you're not doing God's work satan doesn't waste his time, if you ARE doing God's work, watch out.
problem I am fighting a quick temper, so I don't always give the spirits word time to get through to me before I open my mouth. I'm better than I used to be, but still have a long way to go with that AND I pray about it every night
I have walked down the "temper road," it is a battle that is only won when we exercise our free
gift of choice.
When we allow our emotions to run our lives we miss out on one of God's greatest gifts.
When we choose to obey James 1:19 we can free ourselves from a quick temper.
When I personalized the verse to read:
James 1:19 Bob, take note of this: be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry
When I choose to do this instead of reacting to the words of another, I find freedom.
Now I need to learn to react to James 1:19 the same as I react when I step into a dark room. Immediately I turn on the light switch. It is a habit.

I read something the other day, can't remember where, that advised looking at life as symbolic to labor pains. It takes pain and work to be born, to get out. So we are in pain and working hard to get "out" of this life and this world and into Heaven. I kind of liked the image.
Tami, the imagery you presented is one I like too! It reminds me that God brings all to him at the right time and through different experiences. Rose

This image is helping me, along with the verse that I stand shakily on: You must endure many hardships in order to enter the Kingdom of God
Acts 14:22
