Len and I run a charity and do most of our own fund raising when in England.  First thing you have to do is find out as much as you can about the charity, get pictures if you can, if you have a computer try to do a visual power point then go to churches and anyone else who will listen and talk about the charity you are helping.  Our best fund raiser now is our youngest foster daughter, she is so lovable and loves hugs and everyone who meets her wants to help.  Also, if possible get the charity concerned to write a monthly newsletter about their work, including problems.  If the problems aren't talked about, people think it's too good to be true and often won't help.
