Christopher,

My stepping out moment involves watercolor.  My late mother in law was an accomplished artist and her art hangs in our home.  I finally took a class painting retablos and then watercolor and am now painting and drawing flowers.  This was a great comfort to me while my mom was in hospice care and I am creating stationary I call "mom's flowers." and dedicating them to both of my moms.

How's your book developing?

I have always wanted to write, but never had much confidence beyond inane short stories now hidden where no one can find them.

Max Lucado's books haven't saved me, but sacrificing the time and hobbies to study God's word and read Christian literature like his books has not only steadied my walk, but it has also encouraged me to write.

To date I am several pages into a book that God has been leading me to write for some time and I have an ever growing stack of notes and preperation for the rest.

I keep a copy of Max's topical, "The Write Stuff" nearby to inspire me. But the most inspirational thing to happen yet is the convoluted route my first page took to land on a pastor's desk at the exact moment he needed it and which he read to his congregation.
