One of the times I recall is in the spring/summertime getting up early and sitting on the porch and reading and reflecting on God's word. I felt very calm and at peace. The only sounds are from nature and I just relax and enjoy the quiet and silence. After doing  this, I feel rejuvenated and ready to begin my day.

Jim that is a very powerful photo. One of the ways that i recently noticed is how God can reveal hiself through art. This is a perfect example. No words are neccessary when you look at this photo. I can tell that the Lord was guiding your hand. God Bless.

The times I feel closest to God is when I take that perfect photograph. The one where you feel Him say, "Not yet. Wait. Now." The one that you know is special as soon as you click the shutter. Then you see the print and you can sense God's thumbprint in it. The one where people tell you wonderful things but you have to tell them, "God did all the work. He just had me push the button." Childlike faith is difficult to define, but He allowed me to capture it for my church. There are other times I feel close to God. These times are when I feel we are closest. Blessings, Jim

I always feel closest to God when I am setting on my porch looking at everything he has created. And at night when I look up into the dark sky and seeing the stars knowing that he is there. I also like to listen to praise music. It brings me closer to HIM.
Thank you Sister Desiree, this is good Descussion. for me, i like to look up the Sky alot. i don`t know why, even my childhood i do that...now that i know through the BIBLE about the Heavenly FATHER through HIS SON JESUS coming on the cloud, more more looking up the Sky. i know that HE is OMNIPRESENT, HE can be everywhere at same time. when i do feel closest to GOD is when i looking up the Sky, i feel like i am in Heaven way up in the Heavens. also when i hear about the HIS name calling or seeing the Cross. Sister Desiree, everywhere is GOD, the HIS WORD is alive. when i see the Curtian. i feel like i am in 2000 years ago in Temple, when JESUS died on the Cross, the BIBLE verses tell us that Temple Curtian broken from up to down. it is olny the GOD can do it! or to see the wall, thinking about the Joshua time of Jericho wall.there everything, all things in this Earth, leading to the GOD. if we open our Heart and mind and open our Ears to the LORD, here now we can be close to GOD. the WORD remain with us to remember or to feel the Heavenly FATHER`S Heart beat. beginning this i say i like to look up to see the Sky and Cloud i thought about the coming of LORD JESUS. when i am a outside always looking up or to see things how the LORD Created everythings the Beauty and Wonders, make me feel so close to GOD and thinking about HIM how aesome GOD HE is and how worthy of Praising HIM to be....... thank you Sister Desiree for your inspiration to me and to others. <:>< mia
Thank you Cheryl and Mia for sharing your experiences! I enjoy reading the places or things people do to reflect and spend some quality time with our Father!
To All: I was pondering your comments about feeling closest to Him when you look at the stars in the sky.. and I agree.
Think about this for just a moment...
Those stars are really far away and it takes their light a really long time to get here.
Isn't it marvelous that he sent that light on its way to you all those years ago just so you can feel close to Him here in the present? In the same way, He sent His Son, the Light of the World, so that we can feel even closer. Could not resist sharing this. Blessings, Jim
Jim, thank you for sharing...I like your insight on Cheryl and Mia's comments about the stars it definitely gives us something to ponder and realize how great our God is!

There has been some really good discussions on here about when you feel closest to God. I personally always have my head in the sky. It's not just the stars....but the clouds.....the rainbows....the rain.....and the thunderstorms. I also feel very close to God when I look at the mountains....the same mountains seem to look different every day. When I go for a ride or a walk....I see God everywhere...then I reflect how awesome He is....how our God could make such beauty. Noone paints a better picture than God.
Desiree, thanks for bringing this up...the replies have been such a blessing to me.
In Christ's Name,
Donna
Awhile back I shared that one of the times I feel closest to God is when he let's me take that perfect photograph. It happened again the other day. Two young brothers sharing a laugh and "making a joyful noise". Blessings, Jim
