Thanks Giving…

Let’s take a moment and pause and give thanks to our Lord and Savior not only for today but, every day going forward. We tend to get caught up into the holidays and the things that life tends to bring our way but, let us never forget not even for one day to give thanks to our Father.

• Thank you Lord for me waking this morning because I realize tomorrow is not promised to me.
• Thank you Lord for your Word and Promises because without it I would be lost.
• Thank you Lord for the people and things you have brought into my life and may I have Your wisdom to see them and these things as exactly that; a BLESSING.
• Thank you Lord for the people who have come and gone in my life and may I realize and acknowledge the lessons that were meant to be learned; as I continue to grow and draw closer to you.
• Thank you Lord that You …”never leave or forsake me…” even during the times when I don’t feel your presence because the things of the world (for a moment) have overwhelmed me.
• Thank you Lord for ALWAYS being with me for the trials, struggles, and victories because it is through Jesus and Him alone that I am an overcomer.
• Thank you Lord for loving me.
• Thank you Lord because without You I wouldn’t be.

I could go on and on as I take my moment to be thankful to our Father and I’m certain there are many things you could add to this list as well. I challenge you to do exactly that; to take a moment and celebrate God and the blessings both big and small that He has done in your life.

Let’s give thanks to our Father and remember that no matter what we may be going through His promises to His children hold true. He loved us so much to have Jesus come and provide the way for us to dwell with our Father forever!

God bless and have a wonderful holiday!

Your sister in Christ,

Desiree

You are right, there is always something to be thankful for.  although we are short of money at the moment and Len, the kids and I can't afford to go home to see my bio family this year, I still have enough money for us all to eat, to pay for the gas and electric for heating the house in winter, to buy warm clothes and school materials for the kids, to pay for an operation for one of the kids.  We don't know why yet we can't go home, but in time, God will let us know.  He never does anything without a reason, we just don't know the reason at the time.  Despite out ages, Len and I are still strong and healthy enough to look after our foster children.  We still have the energy and strength to run around getting the many documents for the kids that we need, constantly.  Add to this what you have written above, we also have those things to be thankful for.  I have just written briefly of things to be thankful for, but there is so much else that if I wrote it all down I'd be on here all day and not finish.

Thanks for Sharing, and I hope you and all my Max Lucado friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving

Thanks Patricia, that is very true...I hope you and your family have a blessed one!

Desiree.

Not November, but still much to be thankful for:

A mother's love and legacy, found in her journal writings and photographs, all identified and preserved.

An extended family that gets together now for more than funerals and weddings.

Health problems being resolved.

Our God of love, who never leaves us or forsakes us.

The time to reflect on the past year and time to experience opportunities yet to come in the present one.

The best gift, not wrapped in bows or foil paper but in a manger given in love.

Blessings to you and all MLC members in 2012.

Yes Sister! It should be a daily important part of our existence. It should always be the first thing to do every morning and every night.

Psalms 92:1-2   It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,

Psalms 75:1   Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

Psalms 106:1  Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Lamentations 3:22-23  It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Thank you Danilo, I pray we all continue to make the time to thank Him!

God bless,

Desiree

Thanks Sister! I have thanked God for today's blessing of His new mercies. He could stretch His mercy to last forever but He makes sure we will be assured of it by giving us new mercies every day and that makes me grateful to Him. I also prayed for you as a new found friend. Thank God for Christian friends like you.
