infuse (verb)

Definition of INFUSE

to cause (as a person) to become filled or saturated with a certain quality or principle <parents who infuse their children with strong moral values>

Synonyms endue (or indue), imbue, inculcate, ingrain (also engrain), inoculate, invest, steep, suffuse

Related Words animate, charge, enliven, invigorate, leaven; implant, instill, plant; impregnate, permeate, pervade, saturate; deluge, drown, fill, flood, inundate, overwhelm, submerge

I was again reading portions of “Joy in Jesus” and it spoke of a joy infusion – what a concept.  Kind of lick that cuppa joe in the morning, right?  Shoot it right into the vein to wake up?  I could use a shot of joy, right into the vein, to keep me up!  And I got to thinking, as this book keeps referring to the Cross and Calvary as the basis and beginning of joy for Christians.  How could the Cross be a thing of joy?!?

Think of it more as a promise – follow me here, my own feelings and definitions

Marriage – a public display of a promise to each other

Therefore

Calvary/the Cross – a VERY public, long reaching demonstration of the promise and the sacrifice to make it.

I have a friend who gives me almost daily infusions of love:

“You are such a beacon to others – I don’t want to be a drain on the light that you shine for them, I want to give you some light, to help you stay bright.”

And why?  Why me?  How do I rank?  I make mistakes.

And so, Max’s own words, from “Come Thirsty” – “with perfect knowledge of you imperfect life, God signed on.”  Why?  He WANTS us!  Amazing – and it fills me with joy, how about you?  He wants us, scared, moles, bumps, whatever.  We are HIS!

I had a brush with Joy today-- it's hard to say that it was a good circumstance or a pleasant encounter. It was just happiness. Part of it is that my purpose is becoming more clear. When you feel real joy there is a temptation to chug it as if it's fragile and easily ruined.

I'm going to enjoy it and hopefully share the sensation. I shared a great smile on the way to picking up my daughter from school with another Mom. Here's a smile for you :) One thing that brings me joy consistently is using my talents. It's clear to me that you are using yours!!!
wow. this is quite a thought.I think the Cross should be a symbol of Joy though it was a sad event. But ultimately it fulfilled its purpose not just for then but for forever. To be able to not live under the curse of the law is something to smile about. To be able to be close to my Father in heaven is real joy. I can go to him any time i want and share with him anything that i like. To know that despite my many sins he will wash them from crimson to white, to know that i have his grace daily because he made the ultimate choice, the ultimate sacrifice on an old rugged cross is a joy infusion indeed.
He cried all the tears i will ever cry, felt all the pain i will ever feel, carried all the burdens i will ever carry, and he did it without a second thought. He proved friendship can go beyond what we think or imagine. i know again the circumstances were sad. i feel it everytime that i look at it or read about it but that sadness will have people smiling for ages.
Great discussion
