Comment by Nathan Haddock on May 18, 2012 at 3:03am Hi Everyone
Well, it's been quite a journey. I'm sure all have you have been informed that as of the end of this month the Max Lucado Community will be closing down. It was with great sadness that I heard the news, as I'm sure it was with many of you. I have built up some great friendships through this community, learn a huge amount and been drawn closer to God by many of you. So, firstly I'd like to thank you all for getting involved here, your friendship, wisdom, patience and faith. I hope many of us will stay in touch. For me the best way to do this would be through my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/AThoughtfor2day or my blog http://achristianthoughtfortoday.wordpress.com/ I'm sure we'll also connect through the new things that the Lucado team are launching in the near future.
Thanks for journeying with me - I've really enjoyed it and much appreciate your friendships.
Every Possible Blessing
Nathan
Comment by Patricia Violet Joy on January 3, 2012 at 4:45am Where do I start, there has been so much. My granddaughter had the courage to run away from her father and back to my daughter. When Social came to take her back she told them that if they took her back and caused her mum problems she would run away again and live on the street.
We needed a new roof on the annex (we thought)we ended up having to do so much more. Where did we get the money, you tell me. We can only get so much out a day, but even then I didn't think we'd have enough to pay for it all. Get out 4,000 hrn in the purse, get more out next day and hey presto, before I've put in the new lot there's 6,000 hrn in the wallet. I start getting Len to count it with me. Every day we went to add, there was more than had been there the day before. We ended up with the exact amount we needed.
Our eldest foster child had the operation he needed on his arm. Our newest foster child had started the miriad medical treatment she needs. We noticed a problem that the previous carers hadn't noticed. I'm not sure what it is, but know it is a big problem. Hey presto, next day on a medical email I get every week, the case history just happens to be a child with exactly the same symptoms as our child.
The list just goes on and on. If I said all He has done for us in the last year, I'm afraid I wouldn't just take up this site, I'd probably take up the whole site.
God's blessings came forth this November in the form of a precious eight year old boy who brought his dad, a former gang member to church, He (the little boy) told us God wanted both of them here. His dad is now a part of our Developing Lives Bible Study and gradually is realizing God loves him for who he is, not who others think he should be. The transformation is gradual and incredible.
I posted somethign about this, I think, but I came into work one morning a few weeks ago and there was a newer girl that asked if she could speka with me privately. I followed her into the privacy room and sat down while she closed the door. She turned around and immediately burst into tears! I jumped up and wrapped my arms around her and asked what was wrong and she said that she couldn't hear God aymore and was so afraid that her fears had cost her His love. Oh Father, I am so thankful that I didn't have to find the words, they were just there and pouring out of me, along with verses that I have used for myself. I really didn't even hear all that I said, just could feel the flow out of me into this sad girl. Her sister had been in 2 separate car accidents, totally out both cars in 3 days! She was in the hospital with some head injuries. Tha pain that my friend was in! Now, she consideers me one of her prayer warriors and knows that she can come to me anytime, and I know that I will only have to let Him speak thru me!
God let his presence be known to me yesterday at work! I arrived to work on Tuesday morning thinking to myself that this was going to be my last Tuesday that i would spend working here at my present job! I knew that Firday was my last day of wotk and then i was back in the unemployment lines. I opened my e-mail and the very firSt e-mail i read was a notice that our company had been awarded a new contract that had been in the works for over three years. I had just finished reading the e-mail when my boss called me into his office and told me that starting on Monday i would become a temporarty employee and not a contractor and that my stay would be exstended for several months if not years.
GOD IS AMAZING
